The Network of Academic Solidarity and Engagement (MASA) initiated the development of a comparative analysis of the procedure for promotion to higher positions and the establishment of an employment relationship at Universities in Croatia and Serbia.
The goal of this report, authored by Dejana Nešić, is to guide us in the procedure for advancing to higher positions and establishing an employment relationship at Universities in the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia. In the final part of the report, the method and procedure of obtaining the title and establishing the employment relationship of the teachers of the University of Belgrade and the University of Zagreb are comparatively analyzed through answers to the key questions:
1) How is the initiative for teacher advancement launched?
2) Who is responsible for making a decision within the selection procedure? (within this part of the analysis, both procedures are described in more detail and parallels are made in Croatian and Serbian legislation)
3) Does the teacher, upon receiving the title, base the employment relationship on a fixed or indefinite period?
